Mario had ducked into the little café on the corner to escape a sudden drizzle. The warm aroma of roasted beans wrapped around him, but it wasn’t the coffee that caught his attention—it was the woman at the counter, struggling to balance a book, her bag, and her cup. When it tipped, he reached out instinctively, steadying it before a single drop fell. Jessica looked up, surprised and smiling. “Guess I owe you one,” she said. Mario, heart skipping a beat, replied, “How about I just buy you another coffee instead?”

Weeks passed with chance meetings at the same café, until one day Mario found the courage to ask her out. They chose a quiet riverside bistro, where laughter flowed as easily as the wine. Conversation was effortless—like they’d known each other for years. They talked about dreams, swapped childhood stories, and discovered they shared a love for Sunday morning markets. By the end of the night, Mario walked her home under the soft glow of streetlamps, both knowing this was more than just a date—it was the start of something rare.

Two years later, Mario invited Jessica to that same riverside bistro. The table was decorated with soft candles and her favorite flowers. After dessert, he led her on a short walk to the café where they first met. There, on the very spot he’d once saved her coffee, he took her hands and knelt down. “Jessica, from the moment you smiled at me over that cup of coffee, you’ve been my favorite story. Will you marry me?” Her eyes brimmed with tears as she whispered, “Yes, a thousand times yes.”
And just like that, their love story came full circle—beginning and ending with a cup of coffee, yet truly never ending at all.
